In my area we deep troll or bounce. I prefer bouncing as I refuse to use expensive gasoline chasing fish.

Walleye are aggressive and have teeth. Use a small steel leader (or heavier line/spider line if you are cheap like me) and bouncers of assorted weights and colors. A bouncer is just a sinker with a large hook molded into it coming out the side. I always use worms for bait.

Drop the bouncer over the side of the boat 'till it hits bottom and lock the line. Now bounce the thing off the bottom every couple of seconds and get a feel for the bounce. When you feel the slight nibble or snag, jerk the line up and you may have a fish. If not, reel in the line and check the hook as much, if not all, of your worm has been stolen ( you got mugged).

Walleyes like cooler water and currents below about 20 feet in depth from my experience.
