Default Walleye fishing with a 3-way rig???

Well, I'm planning on fishing for walleyes someday next week since thier biting pretty good on the Mississippi right now. I read somewhere about fishing with a 3-way rig for them. I understand you use a 3 way swivel attached to the main line, a sinker on the dropper and either a spinning rig or just a plain hook on the other. I think i'll be using nightcrawlers or maybe leeches but do i use a whole one on the small hook or what?? Will 8-10lb mono line work on a spinning outfit alright?? I will be fishing near wingdams, from the bank, with optimal current. How should i reel it in?? Keep contact with the bottom?? Any help or tips would be appreciated!!! Thanks!!!
