I recommend that you fish the weed edges. The muskies will hide in the weeds and ambush their quarries. They like to chase fast moving lures so use a high ratio reel and don't be bashful ripping the lure through the water. If you get a follower but not a taker do figure 8s at the boat and be ready for an attack. Muskies are very territorial, so you have two ways to fish for muskies. 1) Rip a bait lure like a tandem bucktail meps or a big spinner bait. I personally prefer the size 2 tandem bucktail meps. 2) Rip a big green noisy surface lure like a Woodchopper or an Amazon Ripper to immitate another muskie invading its territory.. You may have to teach yourself how to rip a big lure like a woodchopper by holding your rod low and sweeping it back and slightly sideways. Do it over and over and make lots of noise and splash. Drives muskies nuts. Their attack will be ferocious. The problem will be getting all the darn big hooks out. Consider crimping the barbs and going barbless. But that's what you hire a guide to do! I never touched a muskie on Lake of the Woods or Grey Rocks except during the photos!!
