fish at night with live bait. that is when predatory fish are most actively feeding

fishing hermosa pier is awesome i go there a lot during the summer. for halibut use a carolina rig with live anchovies(if possible) or live smelt which are plentiful at the mid pier area. for rays and sharks i use a simple double hook rig with a 2 oz weight at the bottom. cut up some fresh mackerel for bait and fish mid pier for smaller more plentiful rays or fish the end for larger sharks. have fun
