Best fishing line for beach fishing?

I'm wondering what is the most preferd type of line for general beach fishing? I understand that the salmon will be comming on soon here in Taz and I'm wondering what line most would use. I'm using a 12ft beach rod and spinning reel.

hey man, i guess that you are surf fishing so i will tell you what i love to use while i surf fish. i use 60lb braided spider wire. it is a good casting line very durable and i have pulled in hand sized fish up to 5 ft sharks on this line from just standing on the surf. spider wire for me is the way to go. have fun good luck and good fishin
