 What is the best rig to use surf fishing for striped bass in Northern California?
I don't know the name of the setup, but the only rig I know is tying the line to a swivel with a slider behind it where the lead weight is attached to. Then tie a 3' leader with a hook at the other end. I usually use anchovie as bait. I haven't caught one yet using this rig. Is there another rig I should use? And if I use a jig lure, do I just tie it directly at the end of the line or do I use the setup I mentioned earlier but instead of the hook I use the jig? The problem I would think of with tying the jig directly to the line is that the light weight of it would just cause it to come back to shore because of the waves. |
