Canadian immigration rules are a little fuzzy, and border guards have wide discretion. In general, the rule is that they apply the elements of a Candian crime to the actual US offence in determining eligibilty.
The problem with this, from your position, is that in Canada a DUI cannot be expunged, so applying the Canadian law to your US offence makes it still an excludable offence. Your SAFEST bet is to contact the Canadian Embassy BEFORE you go, and request a waiver of inadmissability. They cost $50, and for a single DUI are routinely granted.
