Default Would a Carp rig work in saltwater?

Saltwater and fresh water anglers are always borrowing off each others ideas and rigs. So I started wondering if a hair rig would be useful in a saltwater application? With a shrimp maybe, for bone fish or snapper? Has anyone ever tried this?
~ J- it looks like this,http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rl8FbKe_f6U&feature=related it's an actual instruction on how to make one.
~ It works with boilies but if it were modified a bit could it be applied to work with saltwater fish?
