...whens the best time to fish 4 them? I already fish for catfish alot, i have caught plenty of fish in my day. I was just wondering more on the scientific view of the matter.

We fish them in the atachaflaya basin in louisiana which is totally fresh water and do very well. But we really load the boat with them when we fish the marshy brackish water along the coast. The population seems to be larger there in the brakish water but that could possibly be due to the time we fish them. In the fresh water basin we catch them year round consistently. In the brakish water we fish after a cold front in the deep holes where you catch them as fast as the bait gets down.

catfish are mostly in lakes ponds and rivers and feed off of the bottom of them.......the best time is probably in spring and thru out the summer months
