if i put a sun catfish in a 55gal will he stop growing? or out grow the fish tank?

can i put 2 white tips in?
by white tips i mean 2 white tip catfish. i have the sun catfish in a 10 gal right now i will get the 55gal but can i put 2 white tips with him?
what do you mean back in the water i got him at petsmart not a lake. its a dam eclipse/sun catfish
maybe instead a puctus catfish i bit smaller how many of those would be good in the 55gallon tank?

If he grows to his potential he would probably need a bigger tank then 55 gallons. Reason being is a 55 is only 12 inches wide, he wouldn't be able to turn around. He will be fine for a while though. As for the the white tips...they are actually brackish and can get quite large.

he will only grown so big, if he dosent have the tank space he wont grow that big

I really don't know but I got a website page just on sun catfish hope this helps. (biggest they say was 18 inchs) Please vist it.
