for goodness sakes, that tank is WAY too small! get a properly filtered, heated and aerated 20 gallon tank. then you can get him some friends- other tiger barbs! the tank has to be so big because they are very energetic and because you need to be keeping them in groups of 6 or more, they are a schooling fish! these barbs go very nice in a natural, planted tank. if you have a light you could decorate the tank with sand, driftwood and live plants for a VERY beautiful effect. your tiger barb its self is in a tank far too small.
to sum it all up: you need a much bigger tank before you can do anything. if you can't get a bigger tank, you can't keep your tiger barb, or for that matter, any other fish (with contraversy over a betta, i think they need proper tanks). |
