what is the best thing to fish for catfish on a creek?

its a extreemley small creek and i want to no wha is the best thing to use fishing for fun on a creek its so small that the catfish dont get over 12 inches long the longest i have cought there is 6 inches long but i have seen about 12 inches long i used minnos today dut is there any thing better??? 10 points to best result!!

one thing that we use that usually works really well is chicken livers. Buy them in the morning and let them sit out all day so they get all half-rotten and stinky. They stink like hell but they catch some catfish
