California Fishing Regulations, fishing for crappie with lights?

I was told to fish for crappie from a well lit bank because they are attracted to the lights. I asked if it was ok to fish from a boat and use a light to attract the fish. My friend said the use of lights was legal.

Is it legal to use lights to attract fish, crappie, while fishing from a boat on a lake in California?

Yes it is legal. Crappie lights are sold at just about all baits shops.

What I do here in Georgia is I have a generator and we hook up three tripods and burn six lamps and light up an entire dock and fish all nioght long. We drink Beers and when its over, we have a cooler full.

i know in kentucky where i live u can use artificial lighting to attract fish while fishing from a boat.
u may want to contact ur local game warden and find out if u can in california though.
