Crappie fishing secret?

This is for people who know how to fish, as I am myself. But I can't figure out what the Crappie fishing secret is......you know the one thats banned in two states. What is it exactly?

There are no true secrets just habits!Crappie are schooling fish and they move often.Learn there habits and u will start to catch many more fish!
Some basic's I start with on a new lake or body of water,advise from bait shops,good topo map are just a couple.
I look for points,shallow to deep weedlines,standing wood,old piers and any natural or manmade structure.Time of day is important also!Sunlight or cloudy!Windy or rainy days I do some of my best crappie fish on!
I like to start with a jig and a cork around piers and when I find fish I change over to a samll minnow.Or I tip my jig with a a waxworm!One thing is that my bait is always moving with a lil twich or a slow retrieve while I work cover.
Points-I use a slip cork rig with live minnow!
Then the last I look to find schooled moving fish in open water an this can be some good fishing.Good luck!

I recently moved from PA to OR, but one thing I've tried that works consistly is noon day heat. Great gobs of crappie fishing.
