Go to the docks when they're not busy (not at 5 am when they're preparing to head out) and get a hold of the captains. You'll start bu swabing decks. You'll have a good chance if you are young, passionate about the sport, strong, have experience, few ties to dry land and like to get stinky. It's fabulous. Good luck!
