What size boat would be good for deep sea fishing. I would like a 20ft boat

w/ an 8ft beam.? Is this boat big enough to handel moderate size waves in the ocean. and what matters most when it comes to handeling waves length or beam

i live in long beach wa, and the fishermen have pretty small boats sometimes, but we also lost a few fishermen last year. they fish on the colombia, and in the pacific. I wouldnt do it, but if your brave, and know what your doing, or have someone with you that knows, then good luck!

i got a 21ft with 8ft beam and i get nervous with that thing on lake michigan.. no way i try to take it miles out into the ocean... but thats just me
