Use your cell phone. Usually in tools it will show tip calculator. All you do is put in the price and how many people. And viola! It's very easy and I use it all the time!

Like in a restaurant, 15-20% of the basic price, of course depending on the quality of service.

Depends on how good the service was, his job is to make you're trip as enjoyable as possible, and he should be giving you advice, if he did this then a 15% tip should be fine, if not you may want to go lower or not at all. Also giving a tip to the mates is a good idea, as often they will be getting paid allot less than him.

You actually tip the mate, as opposed to the captain (you can tip him too, but most don't). In most cases the captain is getting paid for being there, the mates work mainly for tips. If you had a good time, and everyone was helpful, you tip between 15% and 20% of the overall cost, the best way if there are numerous folks, they tip that percentage of what their share was, so all the tips equal to that percentage of overall cost. If it was not an enjoyable trip (I don't mean with regards to what was caught cause sometimes, the fish just aint biting) but the mates were rude, not helpful, drunk, offensive, etc... you tip less or don't tip at all. Good luck on your trip.
