I suspect that they would die from the sudden reduction in ambient pressure. If any of the fish have swim bladders, they'd likely rupture as the pressure fell.
It might be possible to do that by bringing them to the surface in a pressure-vessel, and then lowering the pressure over a long period of time (perhaps days) to bring them up to surface pressure. Since pressure around and inside of a flexible oraganism is relative, I would expect the fish to be able to survive at the surface, if all other factors such as temperature and the absence of light were maintained. |
