Gravel color? Is there one shade that brings out the color of all fish?

I am going to be setting it up tommarrow - and I know me, in the time it takes to cycle the tank, I'll change my mind at least a half dozen times about what fish to put in it....which is why I ask the question...

when i got my first fish tank, i chose blue, and it works great! especcaly considering there arnt that many blue fish

I personally prefer black gravel. It is not as natural, as lets say brown and tan gravel, but it highlights plants and fishes in my tank very well. Black obviously absorb all light and this allows you to focus on other parts of your fish tank. When I had white gravel, it seemed to glow and it distracted me when I was trying to look at my fish and plants.
