Start by ensuring that you do have a pair. Then if you are sure that you have a pair (this can usually be done by buying from a breeder) and that you have enough room, start feeding them live foods and vary their diet making sure there are a lot of proteins in their diet. You could then try to make it "rain" in the tank by sprinkling water into it or spraying the surface with one of those spray bottles. Do this for several days, it is best if you rig something up so that it "rains" for several hours at least a day, this is simulating the rainy season. Then slowly increase the temperature of the tank to simulate the summer season. Keep feeding protein rich foods and don't be skimpy on the live foods.
Sometimes it won't work because your fish are too young and inexperienced. Make sure you have enough room for all the young when they do! |
