Betta Fish Help?

Are betta fish supposed to shed i think mine is i am a new fish owner with no clue how 2 take care of one i know ur thinking then y do i have one but i got it as a gift from my friend by betta has white stuff on it and its acting strange plz tell me wats going on
how did it fungus on it?
also i think it may have had to do something with the rocks. when i would clean the tank the rocks would have bubbles.

That disease you r describing kill already four of my bettas, and i have no way to cure it, and is not ick.

NO fish sheds. Fungus is more than likely right. He is sick, and needs medication. I suggest you go out and purchase some Jungle Fungus Clear. It works against fungal and bacterial infections in fish. Follow the instructions exactly.

And I have a soapbox comment about bettatalk. Faith is full of absolute crap! She is a scam artist for people who know nothing about bettas! Her fish are terrible quality, and her products she touts the same. Not to mention MUCH of the information on her website is FALSE! Do a bit of research, and you'll find she is all hot air.

The fish has developed a fungus. I had a betta fish, and after she got the fungus, she didn't survive too much longer. Talk to the vet over the phone and see what s/he prescribes. I would say take it to the vet but too much movement in the car might upset the fish even more.

It has a fungus on it. I've seen it before and if he's already acting strange, he probably doesn't have much time left. Try keeping his water nice and clean and don't overfeed him. You may want to get some aquarium salts (don't use table salt, it's not the same). Aquarium salt tends to help heal wounds on fish. He might be strong enough to come out of it if you're lucky.
