the best thing to do? also want to clean the vacuum and nets and things like that to avoid spreading disease. what is the best thing to do

I've never had fish, but when I clean my lizards water dish I use vinegar and let it dry and air out for about 20 minutes. Vinegar isn't toxic or anything. So, I think that should be fine as long as you rinse and let the stuff dry.
