10gallons is the bare minimum for a RTS. also, they are aggressive, this means they should really only be with fish of a similar size (around 6" full grown) whihc would call for a bigger tank. both tetras and bettas are poor tank mates. tetras may end up eaten and your betta will probably end up with no fins.
your tank would be perfect if you removed the RTS, I suggest taking him back or finding him a new home (maybe with you in a larger tank or with someone you know).
as for what to feed them:
betta - betta pellets
tetras - tropical flakes
RTS - tropical flakes, pellets, blood worms, just about anything...

people, PLEASE do your research before you answer. you're simply helping spread the myths that cause poor treatment of bettas. bettas are perfectly fine in community tanks, they usually only fight with other bettas. because of their long fins THEY are the ones in danger, not the other fish. |
