Default It's attacking my fish!?

I posted a question yesterday asking about my fish with the ragged tail, i've just noticed that one of my other fish it nipping at it's tail and this is obviously the problem. Do i put the fin nipper in a net and isolate it from the others?
I have 3 Lemon Yellow Common goldfish and 2 Tancho Colouration goldfish, I don't have another filter to put in the other tank i have. I was going to get a net cage to put in my main tank and put either the nipper or the injured fish in there.

It proberly is best to isolate the nipper as he might turn on the other fish if i don't?

maybe isolate the nipped fish until its fins have healed up...look closely for fungus or infection on the nipped fins too, you can buy treatments for these from your aquatic shop...by the way what type of fish are we talking about?

I understand you have a spare tank but not a spare filter? Move the injured fish into the spare tank, use ammo-lock to keep the ammonia away from the fish and treat the fish in isolation.

These fish are really pond fish. To keep a single common goldfish, you need a 55 gallon tank.

it might be wise - but get it a friend of the same species so it doesnt get lonely.

Do the opposite, isolate the naughty fish and see if you can exchange it for a small non aggressive one. What kind of fish are they? I did the other way around but as so as it healed and I released back into the tank it got attacked again. Finally enough was enough, the bad boy got a time out untill I bagged it up and took it back to the pet shop and exchanged it for a smaller non agressive type.

Yes, isolating it sounds like a good idea. If possible, put it in a separate tank.
