Default How does the angler fish, which live in deep sea, adapt to the lack of oxygen?

are there any special features that they have to adapt to their enviroment, besides the fact that it produces its own light?

Angler fish are not very active, so they don't use a lot of oxygen.

Adaptations of the angler fish:
1. The light produced in the "lure" is made by thousands of bacteria that live in the appendange that dangles in front of the angler fish's mouth.
2. The teeth are backward-pointing so the prey is not as likely to be able to escape the grasp of the angler fish.
3. The stomach is very expandable to be able to hold a fairly large-sized meal. The fish itself is rather small, and the expandable stomach allows it to eat a big meal.
4. The male angler fish finds the female through a chemical attractant that she produces into the water. The male actually attaches to the female for life, and his nonessential organs like eyes degenerate. The male ends up just as a nondescript bump on the female's body, producing sperm, but not carrying out many other body functions.
5. The fish is inky black or grey so it is practically invisible in the dark of the deep sea bottom. Other fish might give off a bluish glow, but the angler fish doesn't show up in blue light.

The angler fish (nicoemangler siryum)
reproduces its own oxygen with a special organ
located under its gills.. called an oxyandelor
it pumps excess carbon dioxide through and converts it to oxygen
and then re-using this oxygen.

i hope this helped
