my fish have ick how long does it take to cure?

i have a 55 gallon tank. I did one cycle of the medication then changed the water as the directions told to, just put another cycle of the meds in. How long should it be before the ick startes to go away.
i have a 55 gallon tank with cichlids and 2 loaches, i started the first cycle. then changed the water as it told me to, added warmer water too. Now i started the 2nd cycle of the medication. when should i start to see the spots diminish?
i think it started with a goby that i added. As soon as i noticed the spots on him i took him out and have him in a smaller tank isolated and being treated, then i seen it on the pleco., i put him with the goby and am seeing a slimy type film coming off him with the white spots in it, hoping that means it's almost over for them but now everyone else has come down with the spots so i didn't see the point in trying to isolate any other fish in the smaller tank. The Goby was a new addition he's doing well as are the other fish since he's brackish, keeping the water stable but dealing with the ick.
