Chemical Levels in my Freshwater fish tank.. Help please? I had a problem with some of my fish dying, and I was told that it was a result of the chemical levels (nitrite, ammonia, etc.)
After doing a emergency water change (my fish were acting strangely, and it was as if some were dying) of 50%, some were a bit more lively. Now, they are acting pretty normal, and I just tested my water.
These are my levels, are they healthy for them?
pH: 6.8 (Around 6.6-7.0, it was hard to read exactly)
Nitrite: 0
Ammonia:0-0.2 (More towards the 0, just had the smallest tint away from pure transparency)
GH: 80
KH: Below 10 mg / L
I have a Biocube 14 gallon with 14 fish. You may think it is overstocked if you follow the 1"/gallon, but that is not a working rule. Yes I could put 10" of neons in a 10 gal, but not one 10" oscar. You have to consider their waste, and their levels of the tank.
5 Harlequin Rasboras
4 Guppies
2 Platies
2 Botia Kubotai
1 Dwarf Gourami
Please tell me what my levels should be, and what to do if mine are not healthy for the fish. |
