Cool tank, go to a pet store and get brightly colored fake plants, make the rock higher in certain place to get the layered look, or stack the rocks.

Do you have a PetSmart or PetCo nearby?

I bet some plants in that tank are alive, they do sell some of them at petco. Although they may be expensive. You can get cheap fake plants at either store and there are tons of little trinkets you could use.

I answered a question earlier this month that asked, "What should I do with my wedding cake topper?" I have mine in my aquarium. My wife and I think it makes a great conversation piece. Their is also a plastic model of the cruise ship we took on our honeymoon. Along with a plastic model of the Nemo's Nautilus submarine. I have a buddy that actually has a city diorama, similar to the one in the movie, "WaterWorld." My other friend spent time watching "Finding Nemo" and made an exact duplicate of the aquarium in that movie.
I know that sounds strange. But, think of something totally off the wall. Something that says something about yourself. Something that people see it and say, "Hey, did you check out their aquarium? Way cool!!"
Have Fun. It's an awesome hobby!!
