...for my 55 gal tank.? I was wondering if anyone could give me a few examples of compatible fish for my 55 gal tank. My tank is already an established aquarium. I really want just one or two types of fish to make a huge school with, like 30-50. However, I am up for any suggestions you could offer me.

Tetra's are always good. There are dozens of different kinds and they pretty much all get along and require the same water chemistry. You can quite a colorful variety with them.

How about 75 Neon Tetras and several pairs of Ram Cichlids (Mikrogeophagus ramirezi), Apistogramma species, or Kribensis? That would look SPECTACULAR, especially if you planted it heavily (live or fake) and had some nice driftwood.

If you want something other than the huge school idea, maybe about 5 Angelfish, 7 Pictus Cats, and some larger species or Rainbowfish like Boeseman's or Threadfins.

not much beats a big school of neons or cardinal tetras...

a school of hachets or danios for the surface
and some cories for the bottom makes for a good showpeice.

i would get a large group of danios or tetras they are each about and inch and a half
