lichens on rock in fishtank bad for fish?

I have a 55 gal. fish tank with mainly cichlids in it. I bought some rock to put in it and thought that the lichens looked cool on the rock so i put them in the tank. Recently the lichens on the rock started to grow fuzzy white mold, will this mold hurt the fish in any way at all? if so how?
