best ways to take care of gold fish....?

ok so on my other questions i mentioned that i got some sick gold fish (really pretty ones) from pet store without knowing that they were sick

anyways

i dont want to keep finding the fish dying on me, it's really depressing

and i've heard that it's hard to keep gold fish alive

i currently ahve only 3 pretty gold fish, one defintely has icks =( and we got some med for that

can someone with great success raising gold fish let me know how to better take care of them so they dont die?

also i ahve 60 gallon tank, the tank comes with everything, the filter, the carbon things, etc. it's really well-made
